Everyone loves the Budweiser Clydesdales!

We all love the Budweiser Clydesdales, with many people (not me though) tuning in to the biggest football game of the year JUST to catch a glimpse of these beautiful creatures.

In this fantastic article from Chronicle of the Horse, the history of the Budweiser Clydesdale brand is outlined.  Among other interesting info, the specifications for aspiring to be a “Bud” Horse are outlined as follows:

  • Must be a gelding
  • Must be at least 4 years old
  • Must be 18 hands or 6 feet at the withers (that’s BIG, by the way…)
  • Must weigh 1,800-2,300 pounds
  • Bay in color
  • Four white stocking feet
  • White blaze
